How to unlock Brawlers, Brawl Box and Coins on Brawl Stars: Beginner’s Guide
The heart of Brawl Stars is the presence of numerous characters that make the mode of battle varied and fun. Each character has features that make it unique as the way to attack (physical or distance), features (speed, damage, SUPER attack and skin types) and obviously the unlock mode. We first let you know how to get the characters, especially if you’re starting with Brawl Stars.

How to unlock characters on Brawl Stars
From the first start, all players can only use Shelly, armed with a remote reaction gun, with this character we can participate in the first 3v3 game mode.
By participating, you will get gold coins you will use to unlock the Brawl Box by hand and find the Brawlers inside them:
- 1 Slot Bowler to start playing the first game mode.
- 3 Slot Bowlers will be unlocked once you have activated the second game mode,
- 5 Slot Bowelers will be unlocked when you activate the third game mode,
- 7 Bowelers will be unlocked when you activate the fourth game mode.
Unlocking these characters seems to be completely random, so accumulating gold coins to open the Brawl Box will find inside the various Brawlers. You can also choose to buy Brawlers by buying them directly with the resource called Chip.
How to Upgrade Brawl’s Level
How to boost and upgrade Brawlers? Simple. It’s enough to continue to participate and play the various modes made available by the game. Participating in and upgrading the level of characters is related to the latter, which means that if you use Shelly, the accumulated experience points will go directly to this Bowlers. Not only that, you can also accumulate experience points at the same time for player profile level.
What are Brawl Boxes?
Brawl Boxes are special containers you can open using:
- Gold Coins,
- Gems.
What can I find in Brawl Boxes?
In Brawl Boxes you can find Brawlers, of course if you will find double brawlers this will be converted to gold coins (like with excess cards on Clash Royale).
Brawl Boxes have various types:
- Common (1 Elixir)
- Rare, (2 elixir)
- Epic, (5 elixir)
- Legendary (10 elixir).
Depending on the type of Brawl Box, you will find Brawlers of the same type as well as a variable amount of Elixir. The Brawl Box sequence is not currently known, but it is based on the algorithm we already know about Clash Royale Chests.

Trophies, Gangs, Ranking and Game Modes
- Trophies: Gain them by participating to PvP battles in any available game mode. Increasing trophies also increases the quality and popularity of your Gang (a kind of Clan).
- Gold coins: earn gold coins by participating to all the game modes. You can get it in big amounts if you win the challenges and less if you lose. Also get daily bonuses every time your gang gets a win. You can also find them in the Shop by purchasing and using gems, not only can you get bonuses with:
- Coin Boost: + 50% extra coins from each challenge,
- Coin Doubler: Doubles 1,000 gold coins altogether.
- Elixir: The elixir allows you to upgrade and improve statistics as an attack, health, and SUPER attack of your Brawlers. You can find elixir in the Brawl Box.
- Chip: You can find Chip by unlocking Brawler in this amount:
- Common Brawler: 1 Chip
- Rare Brawler: 2 Chips
- Epic Brawler: 5 Chip
- Legendary Brawler: 10 chips.
- Gems: the resource of all Supercell games: you can only get it by purchasing it in the store. You can use it to boost resource productivity such as Elisir and Gold Coins.
