How to Win in Smash & Grab on Brawl Stras: Tactics and Strategies

Smash & Grab is one of the most exciting events on Brawl Stars, where the aim of the game is to defeat the enemies and collect as many diamonds as possible. It is a very cool challenge as it will require a fairly large playing skill from the whole group. Being defeated will harm to the allied team as it will lose all the accumulated gems until that time. Let’s list the best strategies and tactics to use to easily win in Smash & Grab.

Let’s start from the idea that there are no tricks to win, we will limit ourselves to illustrating the steps to “speed up” the collection of experience on the battlefield especially if you are in the beginning.

Which brawlers use in the Smash & Grab challenge

Each event has Brawlers preferred to use; in Smash & Grab mode this happens, too. The goal of the game is to survive and earn the most number of gems, so we always recommend using a team formed by at least two Remote Attack Brawlers and one by physical attack.

The remote attack brawlers that go for the most in this challenge are mainly: Shelly, Bull, Colt, Brock, Bo, Piper and Ricochet. These characters have a high spin and allow you to speed up the collection of energy for the SUPER attack without risking getting too close to the enemies, and that’s not all. With a team primarily formed by distance Brawlers will allow you to keep away the physically challenging teams.

The only way they will get closer is to face the bullets and this will almost always lead to continuous defeats while trying getting some gems from the center of the field.

The physical attack brawlers that go for the bigger in this case are El Primo and Mortis, though Mortis is seen as a supportive Brawler and not offensive; if used properly can be seen as one and the other at the same time.

Strategies to use in Smash & Grab

This mode is based on 2 types of game:

  • Get control with your team of the center of the field and collect all the gems that the box in the center ‘spits’ out. In this way you will soon reach the 10 gems that activate the win countdown.
  • Alternative: Act like you are interested in the spit-box gems and only when a player has gathered a large number knock him down and steal all the gems he has picked up with sweat so far!

Both tactics are effective, however, we have noticed how players use the mostm of times the second: usually the team expects a player to fill up with gems and then run and steal all the diamonds at his death.

High grass is essential in any challenge, in this it will be especially important if you are using physical Brawlers. Hiding in the grass is important for two main reasons:

  • Hitpoints recovery: When you are in trouble with your character’s life it’s a good idea to hide in the grass and recovering at least 2/3 of it.
  • Brawlers Offensive: appearing out of nowhere and attacking enemies will bring your enemies to stay afloat for a while, and you will take advantage of it to attack and knock down your enemies. If you succeed in the intent, remember to don’t remain hidden at the same point: the enemy will have the visuals for a few seconds after death and this will allow him to see the continuation of the game.

An excellent idea is to combine the two things: if the enemy is almost out of HP, he will probably look for a quiet spot to recover energy. take advantage of this moment to get out in ‘ambush’ style and destroy him!

Using Super Attacks is very important and for Remote Attacking Brawlers it’s easy to accumulate energy: shoot away the enemies coming close without getting too close. Each shot you hit, even if you do not drop the enemy, will allow you to earn points for the special attack.

Once you’ve recharged the Super Attack you can think of throwing yourself into the melee and knocking down the enemies.

When you get defeated you get regenerated in 5 seconds, for a few moments you will be invulnerable and unbeatable to any attack, take advantage of these moments to defend an allied by placing you as a shield: your opponent will go down your legs or die under your shots!

There is no limit to collecting gems: on the player’s head will appear the exact number of gems obtained so far. If we miss less than 1 minute at the end of the round, our advice is to go back to the allied side and hide in the grass: the risk of being defeated is very high as we will attract the attention of the enemy team and this would be a very serious disadvantage if this would happen.

Never get too close to the enemy team! In that side the enemies regenerate after they are defeated and above all you will often find themselves in group of enemy players who protect each other. Very little to get rid of!
